No, no, no....not now!

Boring, is training for her new job, so we aren't playing frisbee. We tried kisses and hugs, but she said, "...not now". So, Prissy and I are entertaining ourselves outside, by chasing anything moving, and barking at all of the people on the street. They are fixing up the rental across the street from us...we have been barking at him all day long. He hasn't been answering us and has totally ignored our barks. I don't understand why he wasn't scared of us? Maybe because we are behind a fence?

Anyway, time for dinner...just wanted to drop a few lines to my pals and wish you all a happy evening!

Pizza party

Today is a special day for ordered pizza for everybody. You would have thought that she had set down a steak. We haven't had pizza in a long time and Prissy's dad paid for us to get pizza as a special treat. We all looked like the fish do when you throw food into the water for them to eat....we swarmed the box! Mom gave each of us a slice... okay Prissy and I got more than one slice...but the cats only got one. (Prissy and I are bigger, so we deserved more, in my opinion.) It was our favorite...hamburger and cheese. Mom didn't get all the veggies since we were going to eat some. I feel very lucky to have gotten pizza today, since I acted so nutty last night.

Did I mention that we got put in bed early last night? Well, we did a bad thing...according to mom...I think it is still debatable. Prissy is always trying to eat my, and everyone else's food, in the house before she eats her own. She got into a little of my food one too many times and I growled at her. She growled back at me, so we kind of tussled...til mom yelled at us to stop and get in our beds! She said that she wasn't going to tolerate that kind of behavior from us...whatever that meant??? I was just trying to let Prissy know I was tired of her stealing my I don't know what the big deal was. Anyway, we got put in bed early. We have been super good today and didn't fight at all over the pizza either! Plus we are giving mom kisses and hugs all day...cause we don't want to go to bed early tonight! Woof Woof

McElway Basketball Story

Okay, this has nothing to do with dogs....well maybe a story about a perceived "underdog". This was sent to my mom by her sis and we just had to show it to everyone! Someone had faith in the underdog and look what happened. Awesome results!

Swimming with two of the Four Muskateers...

Since we do not have swimming weather yet, thought I would share our buddies site with you. This is Joyce and Cody having fun at the swimming pool. Makes us want to go swimming! But, we don't have a pool like this around here..looks like a lot of fun, though!

Prissy is finally free at last!!!

Woo hoo!!! Prissy is back to normal now!No more separation required!! (For those of you who didn't see previous posts...Prissy has been in heat and we had to stay separated. Mom didn't want puppies.) Now we are back to chasing the neighbor's dog up and down the fence line!I didn't know I actually missed the little dickens so much...don't tell her that, though!~

We have barked at the mail lady, chased the neighbor's dogs (from our side of the fence), eaten, barked some more, eaten some more, chased the cats....oh, what a glorious day it has been!!! Hope you are having a great day where you are, too!

PS: Mom is very happy, more whining from us!

Pampering Pets Texas Style!

This is a great idea!If there were enough people in my area who would do this, it would be a great business to start! I live outside Dallas a little, so most people here do their own pampering of their pets. But, check this site out....too cool! This would work great for me...since I am not too fond of being around strangers...

Don't forget to vote! Friday

No curbside kissing allowed...

Wonder if you can take your pets and kiss them goodbye at the station? They aren't on the sign...

Maybe I should show this sign to Prissy about no kissing?( She doesn't know what a curb is... Bricks could be a curb for all she knows!) Then I would have to get my mom to change my main picture on my blog. Oh well, guess I won't tell her...for now.

Love the mail lady today!

Oh boy, oh boy! The mail lady was nice to us today...even though I still barked at her arrival. She brought us a package from Prissy's dad with all kinds of goodies in it! Woof woof!!!!

We got a new leash...been needing another one since Prissy chewed through our old ones. Plus we got a chili flavored Slim Jim apiece! (kind of like a beef jerky) He also sent us some of our favorite chewing gum...spearmint flavored. Did I mention that we love gum? If not....we do!!! Now if mom will just keep those darn cats out of the way, so we can eat our Slim Jim's in peace, it will be a perfect day! Actually, we do share it with the don't feel too sorry for them.(But, we do not share our gum! They will have to use something else to get their minty fresh breath!)

It is a beautiful day today, so I am going to run play some frisbee. It is supposed to get colder again tomorrow and you know mom doesn't play frisbee if it gets too cold outside. Hope you all have a great evening!

Texas State Flower-Bluebonnet Festival -This will take you to the page that will tell you more about the Bluebonnet Festival.

Yucky day

Well, the weather has changed again and it is now misty and foggy! Prissy and I have been sleeping most of the day since we can't go outside and play frisbee or anything. The cats have been taking turns sitting in mom's lap while she has been working today. Don't know what has gotten into them, but they think they cannot last more than a few minutes on the floor! She puts them back on the floor and they promptly jump right back up in her lap. They are kind of cute...and they aren't pulling on my tail as often as they used to. So, guess they are starting to get used to me now?Think I will let them stay... lol.

Hopefully mom will get her camera fixed soon so we can put some more pictures on here. The bluebonnet season is coming and we should be able to get several good ones when they start blooming. Plus they have a huge polka festival coming to town in May...maybe we can get some pictures of the parade and costumed people.??? We'll see what happens! Have a great evening and give your pets an extra hug.

Having a chocolate meltdown?

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and got some sweet gifts! (...wipe that chocolate off your face...) I guess my mom hid any chocolate she may have had, since we can't eat it...not for lack of trying, though. She has to hide all chocolate from Prissy. I normally don't mess with anything on the table, so she didn't think anything about leaving chocolate kisses there in a dish when Prissy was younger. Prissy got in there when mom was busy, stole the candy, and ate all of the chocolates...wrappers and all! Mom was real worried, but it didn't seem to affect Prissy any. So, now mom hides anything she doesn't want us to eat...especially anything chocolate. Plus, thanks to Prissy, if we get too knows to come looking for us, cause we're probably into something. Bummer!

R.E.A.D. Therapy dogs

This is a great organization for children who have problems reading. They also accept pets into the program, after training. So, if you are a dog who can lay still for hours, like strangers, etc...check into being a R.E.A.D. dog!You could make a huge difference in the life of children!

My strange behavior

My mom noticed something today that I do quite often. I do not know why I do this, but I do. It seems that anytime my mom offers me something to eat (people food), she must take a bite first, before I will eat it. This includes my favorites, like pizza, burgers, etc. I guess that I want to make sure it is worthy of her tastes...if not, I do not want it either! Once she has taken a bite, I will usually eat whatever it is. That is, unless it is fruit or some yucky vegetables. I do not particularly like those things...although, I have been known to eat some bananas with peanut butter. But, don't tell anyone about the bananas...may ruin my meat eating image.

Do you have any quirky behavior? If so, share with me!

Lucy: The Tree Climbing Dog

This is Lucy...she is a tree climber. I think she must hang out with some cats, too??? She is the same breed as I am, but I don't climb trees...I haven't mastered that trick.

New day, new friends

Hello, everyone! It is a beautiful day today! All of the bad storms are gone and the sun is once again shining brightly. I even got to go for another ride with my mom a few minutes ago. I love that!

I met some awesome friends today, too! I signed up with ""-they tell you everything about scotties that you could ever want to know. There are some great humans on this site, too! They allowed me to join, so they must be awesome...since we all know I am not a scottie. (Not to mention, I already made several friends and have only signed up today!!! How cool!!!) Check them out!

Free Screen Cleaner

My mom's mom sent her this tonight...I have seen it before, but knew you would all enjoy it, too.

Evening walk...

We went out for an evening walk (mom says I "drag", not walk.) I really am trying to do better, but I just can't help being excited with life! I have to check out everything and mark every bush so other dogs know that I was there. I did real good this time, though...I didn't bark at anyone, or any cars tonight! I am so proud of myself!!! I even got mom to grin by being so good. (She hasn't grinned a lot lately because of my whining all day! I just can't seem to help myself. I know mom will be glad when Prissy is out of heat!) The cats were all waiting at the door for my return. I can't believe they missed me so much. Okay, maybe it was mom they missed, cause they took off when I came in the door first. Anyway, have a great night and I will talk to you tomorrow!

Rainy Monday interferes with my fun...

Hello, everyone. Guess we are kind of boring lately. I had a lot of fun the other day, mom took me riding around in the truck. Of course, I ride up front...I think I am human. Anyway, I think my mom was mainly trying to get me to get my mind off of Prissy and to stop whining. At any rate, I had fun! I love riding as much as I love to play frisbee. I won't be getting to do any of that today because it is raining. Mom doesn't let me get in the truck when it is wet outside. She also doesn't play frisbee when it rains...I tend to jump up on her in my excitement, so she gets all muddy doing that, too. We have too many large trees in the back and not a lot of grass can grow because of the shade, hence mud. At least she did get to rake up some leaves yesterday while it was nice. I love jumping in the piles of least until she stops me. Woof! Woof!

Hope everyone is having a great day and is staying nice and cozy!

Crazy dog--by crazy I mean amazing

I was looking through some videos on You Tube and just had to share this awesome dog story! I couldn't believe sweet! Just shows there is a dog for everyone and everyone for a dog! Enjoy.

Frisbee for lunch!

Whoopee!!!! Mom came outside and played frisbee with me on her lunch. It has started getting windy and cloudy here, but we were still able to play for a little while. Mom's got to get back to work, so I had to herd the cats back in for now. Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

Puppy size..

Get the kleenex ready! My sis sent me this...enjoy!

Puppy Size... This is one of the neatest stories you will ever hear. You will

know precisely what this little girl is talking about at the end (you'll want

to share this one with your loved ones and special friends)!

'Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been back to

this animal shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since

we started all of this,' the mother told the volunteer. 'What is it she

keeps asking for?' the volunteer asked. 'Puppy size!' replied the

'Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for.

' 'I know... we have seen most of them,' the mum said in

frustration... Just then Danielle came walking into the office

'Well, did you find one?' asked her mum. 'No, not this time,

'Danielle said with sadness in her voice 'Can we come back

on the weekend?'

The 2 women looked at each other, shook their heads and

laughed 'You never know when we will get more dogs.

Unfortunately, there's always a supply,' the volunteer said.

Danielle took her mother by the hand and headed to the door.

'Don't worry, I'll find one this weekend,' she said.Over the next

few days both Mum and Dad had long conversations with her.

They both felt she was being too particular. 'It's this weekend

or we're not looking any more,' Dad finally said in frustration.

'We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size, either,'

Mom added. Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter

on Saturday morning. By now Danielle knew her way around,

so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs.

Tired of the routine, mum sat in the small waiting room at the

end of the first row of cages. There was an observation window

so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren't

Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically

to take a closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out and

she held each one. One by one she said, 'Sorry, but you're not

the one.' It was the last cage on this last day in search of the

perfect pup. The volunteer opened the cage door and the

child carefully picked up the dog and held it closely.

This time she took a little longer. 'Mum, that's it! I found

the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!' She screamed

with joy. 'It's the puppy size!'

'But it's the same size as all the other puppies you held over

the last few weeks,' Mum said. 'No not size... The sighs.

When I held him in my arms, he sighed,' she said.

'Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what

love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your

heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh!'

The 2 women looked at each other for a moment.

Mum didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As she stooped

down to hug the child, she did a little of both.

'Mum, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy

come home from work and hug each other, you both sigh.

I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I

held it in my arms,' she said. Then, holding the puppy

up close to her face, she said, 'Mum, he loves me.

I heard the sighs of his heart!'

Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love

that makes you sigh. I not only find it in the arms of my

loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the

moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day.

They are the sighs of God. Take the time to stop and listen;

you will be surprised at what you hear. 'Life is not measured

by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our

breath away.'

Hope your life is filled with Sighs !!!

Warm weather fun!

Today is a great day! We now have 68 degrees! Well, at least for the weekend... I love this because I get to go outside and play frisbee today! Woof, woof!!! All day playing, I can't beat that!

The cats are even getting to where they come outside when we play. I love to show off in front of them. They don't know how to catch the frisbee. I still have to herd them back if they get a little too far away from the door, though. Prissy wouldn't like it if I lost her cat!

We are still having to take turns for now, since mom doesn't want any puppies. So, I will be glad when this is over and she can come back out with me and chase the neighbors dog down the fence!

Hope everyone is having a terrific day and we will catch up with you later!

Weird Border Collie Behavior

Wonder if they could send this dog to my house to teach Shamu and Prissy to clean up after themselves??? Ha!

Dropping the ball lately...

My mom has been dropping the ball lately. We will try to catch up more often now. We have been a little busy. Prissy is in heat, so Mom is keeping us separated. I don't know why she doesn't want puppies? LOL Anyway, hope everyone has a great day and we will catch up later!
